Jose Luis Hernandez

Jose grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. He then entered the USAF and became an instructor pilot in the C-141, T-38, and T-1 aircraft. While on active duty, he earned a master’s degree in Aeronautical Science. In addition, he served in a number of significant leadership positions directing large teams in the accomplishment of Department of Defense programs. He has travelled extensively throughout the world on all continents except Antarctica. Jose retired from the Air Force in 2007 as a Lieutenant Colonel after 23 years of service to his country. Jose is a substitute teacher with the Tucson and Sunnyside school districts. He is also an adjunct assistant professor with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University teaching graduate and undergraduate courses. Jose owns Import-Export Associates LLC, a company which provides services in marketing, business development, international commodities trading, and professional editing. His hobbies include voice acting and computer games. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Tucson Museum of Art’s Latin American Art Patrons in addition to being a board member with Tucson Mexico Sister Cities.
