Conference Invitation & Presentation

The Arizona Sister Cities State Conference returns for its 37th annual gathering, uniting passionate leaders, citizen diplomats, and advocates of international friendship and cultural exchange. This year’s conference—hosted by Tucson Mexico Sister Cities Association in the vibrant borderlands city of Tucson—will take place on October 24–25, 2025, at the University of Arizona’s Environmental and Natural Resources 2 (ENR2) Building.

Guided by the theme “Sister Cities as the Future of International Solidarity, Citizen Diplomacy, and Mutual Cultural Appreciation,” the 2025 conference invites representatives from Sister Cities organizations across Arizona and beyond to reflect on our shared mission in a world that increasingly calls for grassroots global cooperation.

This year’s program will feature a dynamic blend of keynote addresses, panel discussions, cultural presentations, and collaborative workshops designed to explore how Sister Cities partnerships can respond to today’s global challenges—from climate and migration to education and intercultural dialogue. Attendees will hear from inspiring leaders in diplomacy, academia, youth engagement, and civic innovation.

As the host city, Tucson is proud to highlight its deep-rooted commitment to cross-border collaboration and international friendship, shaped by generations of cultural exchange and community partnerships. We especially welcome new and long-standing Sister Cities to connect, share best practices, and strengthen the vital work of building bridges of peace, understanding, and mutual respect.

We invite you to join us in celebration of this important tradition—and in shaping the future of international solidarity through the power of people-to-people diplomacy.
